Helton and Bragg proudly present the chimerical, reconstructed soundtrack from the abandoned production of the late-period giallo film "Natura morta con coltello" (1980). Of the original work only a few production stills (as seen on the album cover), a handful of anonymous manuscript sketches and notes, and a rental receipt for an Elka Rhapsody string synthesizer remain. Everything else, including all film footage, was destroyed in a warehouse fire in 1986, quite possibly set by anarchists.

Further research into the whereabouts of the Elka yielded another fascinating tidbit: The now-defunct production company Nuovo Sangue also promoted and produced musical performances. The Elka was rented for one other occasion, a 1984 concert of new music works for film and theater. Uncovering the program notes made our hearts skip a beat - a tone poem titled "Rompighiaccio" was composed and performed by a new music ensemble with a stark, sinister name: Knife.
